Privacy policy

English translation for information. The German version is legally binding.

We only process the data needed for this website and your order. No cookies, no tracking, no analytics or advertising services.

1. Controller

JusTone (Inh. Sebastian Schnepel), Gillesweg 19, 45257 Essen, Deutschland, schnepel@justone-schnepel.de

2. Visiting the website

When you open a page, our hosting provider (IONOS) automatically stores technical data in server log files: shortened IP address, time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system. IONOS also uses them to create access statistics without personal reference. This serves to deliver and secure the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); the log files are deleted after eight weeks at the latest. We also evaluate these log files statistically ourselves (e.g. number of visitors, pages viewed, referrers, device type) to improve our offer and to detect problems with orders (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We only keep aggregated figures without IP addresses; we also delete the log files themselves after eight weeks at the latest.

The website stores your cart, your language selection and whether you have closed the “Redesigned” notice in your browser's local storage. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us – we only receive the cart when you submit an order. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

3. Orders, contact and withdrawal

When you order, write to us (e-mail or contact form) or withdraw from a contract, we process the data you provide – e.g. name, address, e-mail address, order and message – to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract and related enquiries), for withdrawals Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (statutory acknowledgement of receipt), for other enquiries Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Mandatory fields are marked. To prevent misuse, we store a hash of your IP address for no more than 24 hours when you submit a form (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your message cannot be delivered to our mailbox immediately because of a fault, we keep it protected on the web server until it has been sent and then delete it. We keep a log of e-mail delivery without names or addresses (time, form, reference number, result), which we delete after 180 days (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Photos for an enquiry about your mechanism: If you upload photos on the page “Have your mechanism checked”, they are reduced in size in your browser and sent with your enquiry by e-mail to our mailbox. We do not store them permanently on the web server – they are only held to send the e-mail and deleted immediately afterwards (in the event of a delivery fault, after it has been resent, see above). We use the photos solely to assess your enquiry and delete them when they are no longer needed for this; if they belong to an order, the periods under no. 5 apply. Please make sure that no persons or personal documents are visible in the photos.

4. Recipients

We only share data where necessary to process your order or required by law: with our hosting and e-mail provider (IONOS, as processor under Art. 28 GDPR), the shipping carrier, our bank or PayPal if you pay that way, as well as tax advisers, tax authorities and – for business customers from the EU, to verify the VAT ID – the German Federal Central Tax Office.

5. Storage period

We delete data as soon as it is no longer required. Order data is kept for the statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law (up to ten years).

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR) and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal e-mail is sufficient. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
